Online mapping

Many online mapping tools exist, but they vary in their capabilities and the expertise required to use them. In state and federal agencies, geospatial support staff and resources are often stretched thin and these online mapping tools allow even inexperienced users to design and create maps that meaningfully display data. Maps serve many purposes (e.g., directions, illustration of change over time, visualization of density or concentration). There are as many online mapping tools available today as there are reasons for creating maps. Some are intuitive, while others have steeper learning curves.
